New to Vacaville’s growing food fair is an ancestor from the great mid-west. Bringing distinctive flavors unique from the windy city, Chicago, the Fleming family is in a deli genre all of their own.
In November, 2007 David and Ginger Fleming, along with son Robert and wife, Melissa and daughter Shelby, were presented with an opportunity they had long dreamed of, opening a Chicago style, family owned deli. Close-knit and natives of Chicago who moved to the area in 1989, this family’s objective was to bring to a small town, like Vacaville, a different kind of food experience.
So far the main goal has been obtained. After being approved by Vienna Beef Company (a Chicago original) to sell its famous all-beef franks, Fleming’s menu is complete with the top selling Vienna Beef Hot Dog. This American favorite is served in the customary fashion, on a fresh poppy seed roll, with green relish, sliced tomato, mustard, onions, sport peppers and celery salt. Only $4.50, it’s no wonder guests are quick to return for this special treat
The other specialty is the Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich, which boasts thinly sliced seasoned beef served warm, with green sweet peppers and giardiniera on a roll dipped both sides in Italian beef juice. Of course along with the Italian beef comes the Chicago Italian sweet sausage, served either as a combo with the Italian beef or by itself on a roll with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.
Guests also enjoy a variety of cold sandwiches, like the Cicero Sub, made with pepperoni, salami and Italian capocolla meat, provolone & mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato and balsamic vinaigrette served on a sweet roll.
Ginger is proud to display a selection of fine pastry, which are from all over the country. The moon pie is made in Napa, while the famous Black and White cookie, an authentic New York treat has guest coming in and purchasing 3 to 4 at a time.
 
Robert keeps a close eye on the fresh bread that is baked in Napa and delivered three times a week, which he checks daily to ensure absolute quality and freshness for each sandwich.

We also offer deli meats and cheese by the pound and do our best to keep the price affordable for families.
